Hi guys, sorry I did not post anything yesterday. However, some days when we are dealing with such traumatic situations; it is best to get your mind together before speaking. Today, instead of talking about what's already been done, I want to talk about what we can do.

In a lot of my posting on Twitter and here, I have seen a pattern in where I talk about we need change. However, I never really give enough tips on what we can do to bring change: therefore, for that I am sorry. So, here are my ideas of ways that we can bring change. It will not create a perfect society, (the only way to do that is to totally change the "system") however, it will bring much needed, much awaited, and lasting change in the still corrupted world. Anyway, here are some tips on how we as not just Brothers; but as a people can bring about pure and long awaited change.

1. Get our education. I can not stress this enough, get your education. We are poorly and shockingly unrepresented in major (to say the least) areas of America. Classrooms, courtrooms, and our justice lacks the diversity & cultural experience needed to provide everyone with equal opportunities.

Change for number 1: If you get a education, you can than in turn help others. Rather that's becoming a mentor who emphasizes education. Or just being a educated Brother who sets an example for other Young Brothers. Getting a education makes a difference. We need more of our people MORE THAN EVER; to become teachers, lawyers, judges, police officers, and any other role of authority. We need this so that we can insure or at least feel a little better knowing that there is diversity as well as people just like us in important roles in American Society.

2. Make sure that everyone has access to fair legal process and quality legal representation. Not saying that non of our people get fair and quality law help; however too many don't. I have heard horror stories about Brothers who had free appointed law representation that didn't even know their name. However, we have to help our Sisters in Brothers have a fair shot in life. We can help his cause in a number of ways: THANK GOD. As state before, education is one of the major keys, with this action we can become Lawyers and Attorneys; giving representation to our people. Even if you are in the legal field for hire, there are many attorneys that take cases Pro-Bono (Legal Representation for Free).

Also, separate from Pro-Bono lawyers, there are numerous Defense and Legal Funds that help make sure our people get fair as well as quality legal help. These Funds are based on donations. We can help our Sisters and Brothers by donating to the groups that help them.

(1) NCCAP has a Legal Defense Fund to insure equality in the justice system.

(2) childrendefensefund.org: The Children's Defense Fund is an organization which helps juveniles in preventing youths from going into the "system.". Also as important, they help many youths have a fair chance in the difficult and confusing justice system.

(3) I just find out about this one today. It is a crowdrise.com campaign that is raising money to insure fair and quality legal representation for people involved in the Baltimore and Freddie Gray Protests. For more info checkout Bmore United on Crowdrise.com or Keyword: Legal/Bail Support for Baltimore.

(4) Last, but not least; check with your local representative or chamber of commerce for Local  Legal Defense Funds. Also, checkout a telephone book or google keyword: Legal Defense Funds near me.

Disclaimer: Be careful before donation any money to anyone for unfortunately there are many scams out there.

RIP Mr. Dick Gregory

Mr. Dick Gregory was much more than a comedian. To simply say he was a comedian would almost water-down his greatness. The greatness in which he used a comedic style to educate those of various generations and philosophies. Mr. Dick Gregory was a man of intelligence, sophistication, and humor. Mr. Gregory was a truth seeker and one whom understood that a man must always investigate the conspiracy as well as facts written in the open to truly get a possible understanding of this cryptic world. Baba Gregory understood the importance of health and taking care of one's body. He understand the importance of a healthy spiritual life, and having a true connection with the one true universal GOD. And, the importance of being aware of our ancestors whom came before we all did. Furthermore, Mr. Gregory understood the importance of mental awareness, and the idea to continue to read and learn throughout the journey of life. Mr. Gregory activism and platform is beyond great, and very ...

FASFA

I try to explore different topics and ideas to discuss/share on the blog. While going through some papers and looking through some stuff, I remember that I forget to write about this topic. Therefore, today we are going to talk about FASFA. First, you may ask, "What is FASFA." FASFA is federal aid or money for going to college. Although they said "federal aid", it is basically tax that is set aside for students who want to go to college, but need money to help pay for college. FASFA is available to students who have need and are looking to attend college (certificate program, associate degree, or 4 year degree). You need to fill out FASFA every year. FASFA should be filled out by any and every student. It is something that will without a doubt helpful in paying for school. A simple summary is basically this: (1) Wait until you or parents file Income Tax (2) Go to this website- https://fafsa.ed.gov/ (3) Create a account (4) Fill out all of the informat...

Short Story of the Fatherless Black Male

I wrote this in the backseat of a car during a road trip. This post may have a couple of grammar errors and a couple of different ideas. But, this is how I truly felt. Let's get into it. I can't sugar-coat it or make it seem insignificant. Point blank, being a young black male without a father sucks. It worse than the stench of rotten eggs, and it feels worse than being hit by a truck at high speed. Being a fatherless male is like having half of your self taken away at birth. Being a father black male means going through life without a round-the-clock mentor, a disciplinary, a friend, a dad. I mean having a mom is a blessing within itself. Most fatherless males usually have a mom. However, if it took two to create, then it is best to take two to mold and build. And, let's be honest, it's some questions no dude feels comfortable or feels right asking their mom. That is just one of the reason why not having a father sucks. At the very least, it is a inconvenien...
