The things that you see are what you believe!

"Praying to sky all black, looking up at the stars like the finna talk back."- Big Sean "Beware"

I could not think of an accurate title for this post, so I just went with what was in my head. I know it is not a great title, but just bare with me.

As always, I try to incorporate with I have learned in school with this blog. I try to teach and open eyes, just as my eyes are being opened now. I think what is so amazing about what is happening over here on this blog is the fact that it is not written by someone who knows everything. Not someone who has fully experienced life and is coming from a all-knowing angle. No, this blog is dedicated to young brothers who are going through life currently. And this blog is written by myself. a young brother who is going through life right now.

I said it all the time, but we are growing together in this world. Trying to figure things out and solve the mysteries of life. Or at least unlock the true potential that lies in each and everyone one of us.

Anyway, like I said, I put everyone on when I'm on. This semester, I am taking a Anthropology class. And, although we talk about monkeys, ape, and dental formulas, we also talk about several others things.

In this class, I learned something that maybe you already knew, but I didn't.

What I learned was that we are not actually looking at the sky when we see it at night. You know that blank, dark sky that we see every night is not the true sky that GOD created. No, what we are seeing is a product of light pollution. Basically, we are seeing the sky not in its true form. But, in one that is overtaken by the population or alter because of the excessive use of fake lighting (lightbulbs, streetlights, lights coming from business, and people houses).

This is what the true night sky looks like. This is for all my city dwellers and urban dwelling brothers like myself.

Real talk no games, this is what the world would look like without light pollution. Now, with the knowledge and education of knowing this I would have been blind and ignorant to the facts. I was ignorant and blind to this matter. Not saying this as being uneducated, but unaware of life.

Now, I love the environment and I went to talk more about treating it right, but that's not why I'm here. I am here to talk about being blind and unaware of life.

See in most more populated and urban cities, the sky is dark and yields nothing that is in plain sight besides the moon. The moon is beautiful, but it is more useful when you are with your girl. not when your thinking about life on a deeper level.

However, those who live in rural areas are able to see a lot more stars and such. But even their light pollution is killing off the chances to see such beauty.

Seeing a world without light pollution is especially important for us as brothers. By being able to see the stars and the sky, we can a world that is bigger and greater than us. Something to let us know that the world is not empty and bottomless.

I think Lil Wayne said it best, "I got ice in my veins, blood in my eyes. Hate in my heart, love on my mind. I seen NIGHTS FULL OF PAIN, and days FULL OF THE SAME."

That message is powerful. I understood the lyrics as this right here:

Because he has seen nights that yield no light. He has no escape from the tortures of a oppressed life.

However, maybe I am unrealistic, but with light in the sky 24/7, brothers can see a way out. You go back in memory to the days where life was simpler. Not now were light is making the world form a cold dark place. Maybe, I'm wrong or completely flipped on the topic, but I think it is important to add a quote by MLK. He says “Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that."

See with light in the sky, dreams can come true. Only when nothing or obliqueness rules the day and night, will there be dreams no longer alive. The torch and passion in one's heart will always be extinguished.

Without light or a bigger purpose/meaning, the world will always look lifeless. It will always look hopeless. You will start taking horrors as the norm and being in the trap as just being the normal. As something that is true. You will look at success as never been obtainable. You will look at life as not being what it is. A true gift.

It was this old black doctor or pro-black person who once said on a video (I think his name was Dr. Williams and I am para-phrasing):

"Life is a absolute gift. It is the time where life, spirit, and the breath of life meet. This is your gift and reward from GOD to be alive and be a physical being.."

Basically what he meant was this is our gift. To touch, feel, laugh, and be alive. We are the universal, the minerals, bacterial, and particles we are made of is the same as that of the universe and stars. That is a science facts. Therefore, to view the world as hopeless. To not know what happiness is. To have PTSD as that of the soldiers because you have mental trauma from your surrounding. Or, just like in Menace 2 Society, you don't know rather you want to live or die, or you don't know how precious life is until you take your last breath. This is not a life to live. That is not the true meaning of life. Life is suppose to be clear and precise.

Anyway, I leave with one last thing. This man was one of the greatest thinkers of all-time. He died with his belief to think and understand life. His name was Plato, and although he died over a thousand years ago, one of his messages is one that needs to be heard by every brother in America.

He work was created "The Allegory of the Cave."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allegory_of_the_Cave

Plato has Socrates describe a gathering of man (I like to think of them as young black men) who have lived chained to the wall of a cave all of their lives, facing a blank wall. The prisoners watch shadows projected on the wall from things passing in front of a fire behind them, and they begin to give names to these shadows.

The shadows are as close as the prisoners get to viewing reality. He then explains how the understanding reality (Someone who mind is set free. A brother who freed his mind and soul from falling into the trap) is like a prisoner who is freed from the cave and comes to understand that the shadows on the wall do not make up reality at all, for he can perceive the true form of reality rather than the mere shadows seen by the prisoners.

See my brothers, it all goes back to the light pollution situation. The things you see are not reality, but the product of the pollution that has been released and target upon our communities. The drugs, guns, music, and unhappiness. The darkness or veil over one's eyes. THE HOPELESSNESS.

It is all a trap, but if you do not open your eyes, anyone including ourselves can fall into. If we don't break ourselves free, we will be feed lies that will push us off the edge, because we were already born next to it. Free your mind and know that the things you see are not as they appear. That there is a distant star that will always take you to the ultimate blessing put upon your life. THINK ABOUT THIS......Where would the Wise Men be without the Stars.

Find your light in the sky today,

The Brown Brother

RIP Muhammad Ali (The Greatest)

As you have heard the sad news by now, the great Muhammad Ali has passed on. He was laid to rest yesterday. When I say passed on, he has moved on to another journey. To another place to inspire, love, encourage, and communicate without bounds or limits. Mr. Ali is free yet again. I don't have to say what Mr. Ali meant to me. Just from past articles, tweets, and videos, you guys already know what he meant to me. He was a inspiration, hero, mentor, and someone to look up to and listen; learning and hanging on to has every word. Even if those words were 50 years old, they still hold relevance to this very day. I am keeping this post short, because no true words can describe what he meant to me, to all of us. However, I will end this post like this. Heroes are remembered, but legends never die. Therefore, he was the greatest legend ALL-TIME. And, he will live on as long as WE as a PEOPLE are still ALIVE!!!!! Rest Easy Champ!!!!!!!

RIP Mr. Dick Gregory

Mr. Dick Gregory was much more than a comedian. To simply say he was a comedian would almost water-down his greatness. The greatness in which he used a comedic style to educate those of various generations and philosophies. Mr. Dick Gregory was a man of intelligence, sophistication, and humor. Mr. Gregory was a truth seeker and one whom understood that a man must always investigate the conspiracy as well as facts written in the open to truly get a possible understanding of this cryptic world. Baba Gregory understood the importance of health and taking care of one's body. He understand the importance of a healthy spiritual life, and having a true connection with the one true universal GOD. And, the importance of being aware of our ancestors whom came before we all did. Furthermore, Mr. Gregory understood the importance of mental awareness, and the idea to continue to read and learn throughout the journey of life. Mr. Gregory activism and platform is beyond great, and very ...
"#TheFlagMustGo" Growing up, I have seen the Confederate flag so many times I could not count. As, a Young age I knew the Flag was wrong. Then, as I got older I was about to study the origins as well as the very people who created, represented, and coveted the flag; I truly had my answer: The Flag Must Go. Before, I give my opinion; I am going to give y'all unmistakable and unarguable facts. In 1861, politician William Porcher Miles designed the flag. As I studied the very man who created the "confederacy flag." I wanted to understand his doctrine and beliefs. I wanted to see what he wanted to create, pass-down, and strength who's cau...
