How to be the best student possible....

How to be the best student possible is hard and is going to be quite difficult. Being the best will acquire determination, being focused, and straight will power. In addition to those qualities, you need certain skills to achieve the kind of success that only belongs to a selective few. As always, I look to share things that I think can only add to strength to some areas and help in our daily journeys. Therefore, today lets look at the best ways to be the most complete student possible.

1. Study-

This seems pretty simple, however if you don't know how to study the right way then you will not have as much success. In addition, no matter how good you are at studying the right way (which is basically note cards and verbal as well as visual association), you always need to do the most important thing: Reserve enough time to study.

2. Time management-

Speaking of time, one of the most underrated and underappreciated aspect of learning is strategic timing. Rather test taking, managing things that directly or indirectly tie into school, or projects/assignment outside, all things require decent time management.

I believe one statistic said that over 50% of Black males in college have at least a part-time job, so like I stated earlier time management and proficient studying are needed.

3. Stay focused-

A distraction free student is a focused student. In addition, school is nothing to take lightly. Therefore, if you want to be successful, you have to get rid of the distractions (no matter how minor). Video games, TV, and Instagram for instance are big distractions, you can get stuck in virtual reality for hours on end.

(2) Bad circles are a distraction. I'm not saying that having friends is bad, and everyone needs maybe not a squad, but at least a hand full of friends. However, when you get to college for instance, all of your friends are not coming with you. Therefore, when picking or making new friends, make sure they are people with similar goals in mind.

4. Staying motivated and positive-

Having a positive and self motivated mindset in school is basically gold. To be honest, higher education is not for procrastinators. In addition, school is not for those who crack easily under pressure. That is why I say it is not for the lazy, the procrastinators, and the unmotivated. Now, I know life is crazy. However, when you give it your best, there is no shame in the end outcome of any task no matter what it is. So, just give good effort.

In my first year of college, the word I always hear is procrastination. Although postponing something for later is okay if you have responsibility (work or kids), however if your procrastinating or just avoiding school, then you need to change your mindset. Again, don't crack under pressure because some teachers and professors want you to fail (just like some want you to succeed). Encourage and motivate yourself because no one else will.

5. Be ready for the heavy lifting-

No one told me college would be easy. But, I was expecting something different. What I got was a load of work, little time to do it, and plenty of distractions to take away the little time I had. As you progress in your pursuit of education, the mountain to climb gets steeper. Therefore, the last tip I can give you is to expect a heavier load to carry. Life is not easy, but what can you do?

Lift the weight!!!

RIP Mr. Dick Gregory

Mr. Dick Gregory was much more than a comedian. To simply say he was a comedian would almost water-down his greatness. The greatness in which he used a comedic style to educate those of various generations and philosophies. Mr. Dick Gregory was a man of intelligence, sophistication, and humor. Mr. Gregory was a truth seeker and one whom understood that a man must always investigate the conspiracy as well as facts written in the open to truly get a possible understanding of this cryptic world. Baba Gregory understood the importance of health and taking care of one's body. He understand the importance of a healthy spiritual life, and having a true connection with the one true universal GOD. And, the importance of being aware of our ancestors whom came before we all did. Furthermore, Mr. Gregory understood the importance of mental awareness, and the idea to continue to read and learn throughout the journey of life. Mr. Gregory activism and platform is beyond great, and very ...

RIP Muhammad Ali (The Greatest)

As you have heard the sad news by now, the great Muhammad Ali has passed on. He was laid to rest yesterday. When I say passed on, he has moved on to another journey. To another place to inspire, love, encourage, and communicate without bounds or limits. Mr. Ali is free yet again. I don't have to say what Mr. Ali meant to me. Just from past articles, tweets, and videos, you guys already know what he meant to me. He was a inspiration, hero, mentor, and someone to look up to and listen; learning and hanging on to has every word. Even if those words were 50 years old, they still hold relevance to this very day. I am keeping this post short, because no true words can describe what he meant to me, to all of us. However, I will end this post like this. Heroes are remembered, but legends never die. Therefore, he was the greatest legend ALL-TIME. And, he will live on as long as WE as a PEOPLE are still ALIVE!!!!! Rest Easy Champ!!!!!!!
"#TheFlagMustGo" Growing up, I have seen the Confederate flag so many times I could not count. As, a Young age I knew the Flag was wrong. Then, as I got older I was about to study the origins as well as the very people who created, represented, and coveted the flag; I truly had my answer: The Flag Must Go. Before, I give my opinion; I am going to give y'all unmistakable and unarguable facts. In 1861, politician William Porcher Miles designed the flag. As I studied the very man who created the "confederacy flag." I wanted to understand his doctrine and beliefs. I wanted to see what he wanted to create, pass-down, and strength who's cau...
