                                              " Colorism: Division Among Us"

This kills me to write it, but it has to be said. As y'all know, I call out any and everyone who is oppressing the success of Us. When I mean this I don't care who it is even if it's One of Us. Heck, I have called-out myself on this blog (several times). Today instead of talking about Racism, I want to talk about something called Colorism.

Definition: Colorism is a practice of discrimination by which those with lighter skin are treated more favorably than those with darker skin. In the African-American community, this traditionally played out via the paper bag test. Those lighter than the standard paper lunch bag were allowed entry into fraternities, sororities and other realms of black upper class life, while dark-skinned blacks were excluded. WOW! Am I right. This is foolish beyond belief. I didn't even want to believe this until I got older and found this to be true. Further, it was never a issue or I never felt less or more than my fellow Brother/Sister. I have all kinds of shades of people in my family. I never saw no-one in a better light (no-pun intended). In addition, to me "The Blacker The Berry, The Deeper The Roots (However, that's just my opinion, and that's just the way I was raised).

Anyway, I would not bring this topic up had it not hit me in the face HARD the other day.

For anyone who knows me, The Brother Behind The Computer. Y'all know that I am a huge YouTube consumer. Honestly, I watch YouTube possibly more than regular TV.

Anyway, I watch a popular YouTuber. He is a Brother and some of his pranks are funny (I do not want to get sued so I will not say this name). Anyway, he is a ok dude (I at least thought that from what I see from his pranks and vlogs). However, something that has turned me from him is a new series of skits (written-comedy videos). The New Skits are Called Light Skin .VS. Dark Light (He's Young and is preaching ignorant division). He is doing these skits in partnership with a powerful company, run by one of the most powerful Black-Men in America.

Anyway, not only are the skits unfunny; however, they are bringing division. Also, in 2015 they are doing the Tom's Dance by bringing back old "stereotypes" and "hate-traps" created & set-up by the oppressor (read Willie Lynch Letter).

The sad part is, I can't even blame any "outside" sources for trying to cause division amongst US. This is being done by uneducated & unenlighten Brothers who have lost their way or never had it in the first place.

This series of "Internal Hate" and "Internal-Division" has been going on for some weeks now. Although, I have only watched one (I was too sad to watch the rest) this foolishness is continuous and may not stop anytime soon.

To add insult to injury, this channel does not even have anything to balance the foolishness. No reverse Colorism, Unity Skits, or I didn't even hear them mention the tragedies of Mike Brown, Trayvon Martin, Monroe Bird. These people in my opinion are truly unbelievable (in the worst way possible way).  Even there competition, Complex News talk about real and impactful topics. While these people, are Fools For Free. In my opinion, this is black-on-black crime. And not the bias one that Fox News loves to cover (White-on-White is about 86% to 89%), just had to throw that out.

In closing, for I can not articulate this the way I want to. I want to say that no one is better than another. I love My Sisters & Brothers the same, no matter what their complexion is. And, if you don't know where the love for "Angel Cake & Devil Cake" comes from. It comes from the "Slaves" love of Master, It comes from Willie Lynch, it comes from the brutalization of Our Fore-Mothers (which as a result produced "House Workers" aka the "different" off-spring). Look up the word House Slave or House (you-know what).

In conclusion, I say this. These skits are beyond foolish. Comedy is suppose to make people laugh and heal people. However, this is hurting and dividing people. Also, even a kindergarten knows not to make jokes that are harmful, offensive, or are at the expense of another.

I found these skits also even hardening, knowing the struggles Our Ancestors made for our equality. I also know the struggle and sacrifice they went through to try to unite Us. Last, I know the sacrifice and struggles that many right now are going through (including myself) to unite Us as a people.

I am truly sad that they have chosen this form of comedy to base or waste their lives on. This is junk and mess that needs to go away.

I closing, I leave you with a speech that has been said to be one of the most popular speeches by The Great and Honorable Minister Malcolm X: "Who Taught You To Hate Yourself."

Sincerely,

The Brown Brother

RIP Mr. Dick Gregory

Mr. Dick Gregory was much more than a comedian. To simply say he was a comedian would almost water-down his greatness. The greatness in which he used a comedic style to educate those of various generations and philosophies. Mr. Dick Gregory was a man of intelligence, sophistication, and humor. Mr. Gregory was a truth seeker and one whom understood that a man must always investigate the conspiracy as well as facts written in the open to truly get a possible understanding of this cryptic world. Baba Gregory understood the importance of health and taking care of one's body. He understand the importance of a healthy spiritual life, and having a true connection with the one true universal GOD. And, the importance of being aware of our ancestors whom came before we all did. Furthermore, Mr. Gregory understood the importance of mental awareness, and the idea to continue to read and learn throughout the journey of life. Mr. Gregory activism and platform is beyond great, and very ...

FASFA

I try to explore different topics and ideas to discuss/share on the blog. While going through some papers and looking through some stuff, I remember that I forget to write about this topic. Therefore, today we are going to talk about FASFA. First, you may ask, "What is FASFA." FASFA is federal aid or money for going to college. Although they said "federal aid", it is basically tax that is set aside for students who want to go to college, but need money to help pay for college. FASFA is available to students who have need and are looking to attend college (certificate program, associate degree, or 4 year degree). You need to fill out FASFA every year. FASFA should be filled out by any and every student. It is something that will without a doubt helpful in paying for school. A simple summary is basically this: (1) Wait until you or parents file Income Tax (2) Go to this website- https://fafsa.ed.gov/ (3) Create a account (4) Fill out all of the informat...

Short Story of the Fatherless Black Male

I wrote this in the backseat of a car during a road trip. This post may have a couple of grammar errors and a couple of different ideas. But, this is how I truly felt. Let's get into it. I can't sugar-coat it or make it seem insignificant. Point blank, being a young black male without a father sucks. It worse than the stench of rotten eggs, and it feels worse than being hit by a truck at high speed. Being a fatherless male is like having half of your self taken away at birth. Being a father black male means going through life without a round-the-clock mentor, a disciplinary, a friend, a dad. I mean having a mom is a blessing within itself. Most fatherless males usually have a mom. However, if it took two to create, then it is best to take two to mold and build. And, let's be honest, it's some questions no dude feels comfortable or feels right asking their mom. That is just one of the reason why not having a father sucks. At the very least, it is a inconvenien...
