Hi,  My Brothers, you guys know I dibble and dabble in poetry. Therefore, here is another poem that I wrote. Its rough, so bear with me. It is called "Being A Black Man" Being A Black Man is as numerous as grains of sand As uncommon as untouched land As deep as the ocean floor As heavy as love that is no more. Being a Black Man has roots that are deep As real as our Karma that We all must rep The Valley is low. But the reward will be high. More Valuable than Gold Or A Big Castle By and By For, what we will receive is in the soul That's no lie. Power, Unity, Strength, and Love. Will be a daily occurrence like the night's sky. "Being A Black Man ": Written By: The Brown Brother All Rights Reserved By The Brown Brother
Yesterday, was a awesome day for Us as a people and as a country. Yesterday, was a live and active moment of Black History. The actions of Bree Newsome will without a doubt go down in African-American History. By showing incredible strength, courage, and power that few had or were willing to share; Miss Newsome had the guts to do something that few (men or women) did. Miss Newsome took down the confederate flag that was flying high on South Carolina's State Capitol. Because, of the heroic actions taken by Miss Newsome; the fight for Our Rights has been recharged and fueled into greater heights. Further, Miss Newsome should serve as a hero and example for all of Us. The Great Minister Malcolm X said "By Any Means Necessary." Therefore, she used any means to make sure that let everyone know "By any means necessary" that our Rights, Liberties, and Lives Matter. On Behave of All Brother, Thank You, Miss Bree Newsome Sincerely, The Brown Brother #FreeBr...
The BLACK FEMALE IS A SUPERHERO THE BLACK WOMEN IS...........SMART THE BLACK WOMEN IS...........BRAVE THE BLACK WOMEN IS...........POWERFUL THE BLACK WOMEN IS...........HEAVENLY THE BLACK WOMEN IS...........BEAUTIFUL THE BLACK WOMEN IS...........COURAGEOUS THE BLCK WOMEN IS..............PRAISE-WORTHY THE BLACK WOMEN IS...........CREATIVE THE BLACK WOMEN IS...........DESERVES RESPECT THE BLACK WOMEN IS.........................................................................................................................OUR EVERYTHING:(MOM, SISTER, STRENGTH, COMFORTER)
"Buy Black": No excuses the alternatives and the time are there. Again, I preach this as always. Buy and Support Black Businesses at all cost. The other day I brought y'all a shocking and truly sad statistic. We, African-Americans have over a Trillion Dollars (1,000,000,000,000) (that's a billion times  (x) 1,000). Man, I have never seen so many zeroes. However, the dumb, ignorant, and sad part is Black Owned Businesses only see 2% (sometimes less than 2%) of that trillion-plus dollars. I'm sick beyond belief. However, instead of always trying to preach, convince,  or call-out anyone. I'm going to show you some important and impressive Black-Owned Businesses. This are "OUR" alternative; instead of going to Amazon.com, or Walmart, or making N...
"#TheFlagMustGo" Growing up, I have seen the Confederate flag so many times I could not count. As, a Young age I knew the Flag was wrong. Then, as I got older I was about to study the origins as well as the very people who created, represented, and coveted the flag; I truly had my answer: The Flag Must Go. Before, I give my opinion; I am going to give y'all unmistakable and unarguable facts. In 1861, politician William Porcher Miles designed the flag. As I studied the very man who created the "confederacy flag." I wanted to understand his doctrine and beliefs. I wanted to see what he wanted to create, pass-down, and strength who's cau...
As always, My Brothers I talk about a cause, business, and/or idea created by Black Males. Not only are we rarely represented in a good light, but also we never receive a fair amount of media exposure or attention for our good works. Therefore, today I am highlighting let another business/idea that I stumbled across on twitter. One of the people I followed talked about a company ran by a African-American Male for African-American Males. The business is called The Dapper Black Box. This company is an amazing and ongoing business. Like a monthly Christmas Present, The Dapper Black Box sends you a box filled with 3 to 4 Men's accessories & toiletries from black owned brands. This business is by far my favorite that I have advertised in the Blog. Not only is the Business Black Owned. But it gives you products from Black Owned Businesses. In other words not only are they creating businesses for themselves, but also for other Black Brothers and Sisters. I truly love this. This ...
First of all, RIP to the innocent and defenseless victims of the AME Massacre. Also, to all the families of the victims I am truly sorry for the lose of your love ones. Last, to the Pastor of the AME Church, when I saw his bio and history; I was truly hurt for I saw that we was one of the few "good" politicians. He lobbied for body cameras and economic equality. I don't know about y'all but I have taken this AME Shooting a lot harder than I expected. These last few days have been hell. From anger, depression, and down right hopelessness; I have felt it all. They say the devil comes to steal, kill, and destroy. And unfortunately, I have to admit he temporary steal my joy, killed my hope, and tried to destroy my peace. However, GOD IS GREATER Than anything the devil does. I have deeply relied on my faith and a unlikely source (YouTube) to get me through this tough time in my life. A tough time where once again, I have had to question myself, my thoughts, and humanit...
I'm sick and tired of being sick & tired. News and Media Reporting. A 21 Year Old Racist Terrorist, just walked into a all-Black AME Church in Charleston, SC and Killed Numerous People. This is 2015 and Racism still exist, and if you did not know maybe this will open your eyes. 16 Street Church Bombing Now, AME Church Shooting. Attacks and Killing of Peaceful Black Lives. Killing innocent GOD-Loving Families, Your lower than the dirt on the ground. I sick of this now. I'm too pissed to even say anything else.
As y'all probably know, yesterday was the great Tupac birthday. This amazing poet, activist, actor, human being forever change the world. Rather through the music industry or his lyrics pertaining to every day life; Tupac made a permanent impact on society. Tupac said something in a interview one time that always stuck with me. He said, “I'm not saying I'm gonna change the world, but I guarantee that I will spark the brain that will change the world.” Dang, that deep. Since last night though, this question or questions has been on my mind. What was Tupac goal? What did he want from this next generation? What was Tupac legacy or idea for US as a People? Therefore, I am going to try talk about what I see was Tupac's Vision via his lyrics and quotes. Anybody who knew Tupac personally or were blessed to meet him in person know that Tupac had the heart of the people. There are numerous stories of Tupac stopping in the street and just talking to the people. There ...
Today in Black History, something happened that literally and unmistakably change the world. Today, in 1971 the greatest poet and some consider the greatest man of our generation was born. Tupac Amaru Shakur was born in East Harlem, NY. Child of two (Mother)  Afeni Shakur  (and his father), Billy Garland, active members of the Black Panther Party in New York in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Tupac grew up with the Brotherhood, Responsibility, Black Identity, and Black Love that not only carried him through this journey of Manhood; but also through his music. Pac has and will always go down as the Greatest. It was Tupac love for art and artistic expression that first sparked his passion. What made Tupac Great and still makes him Great is his self identity. He never ran away from the issues of Our Community. Tupac had intelligence that very few rappers, heck people possess. Tupac never feared anything, not even death. That why people, no matter their affiliation can ap...
Hi, My Brothers I hope everything is doing well with you guys. While for today,  I thought I would give you guys an update on our very first Book "40 Tips for Young African-American Males." The book is complete, uh I just going over the editing and final touches. However, I have not yet found a cover. But, it will be one soon; even if we have to create or generate one from a graphic design website. I am very happy that this book is coming together nicely. Like one of my inspirations (J. Cole) once said "I feel like a success, before it even comes out." That's how I feel about the book. I'm telling your right now, the book is ready. Also, there are going to be nothing but BIG THINGS Coming for US. My Brothers, we are going to take this to the next level. Further, when these books are ready and loaded; we are going to take all of our talents (not just to South-Beach, but) all over the WORLD.
Hi, my Brothers; I have not posted anything in a couple of days. I was going to write about something different today. However, I saw this video and I had to share it. The anger and outrage I have can not be calculated because this video is too outrageous to believe. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJhIN0gUN30 The video link above will direct you to Youtube. Where it shows a video of four Young Brothers being harassed and thrown out of Walmart. It further shows one of the Young Brothers being arrested. They were not harassed and then arrested for Robbery or Theft; but for "JUST HANGING OUT AND SHOPPING TOO SLOW." Yes you heard me, for going to slow in the store. Now this I can't believe. Maybe something else will come out and show otherwise. However, if this was the Young Brothers only "behavior"; then this arrest and event is truly hard to believe. For anyone who has ever grown up in any city in the world, you know summer are boring. Now, ...
This is my response to McKinney and Kalief Browder; I wrote this poem. It is called He was Right. HE WAS RIGHT Life is unmistakably unpredictable One minute your here and the next is just a part of someone's year. You try to stay clear of the troubles that be. However, its hard when Brown is all people see. I hate the lies and my heartbreaks from seeing the cries. I still wonder why my people are the group that always dies. They but a price on our life. With no commas in sight. They put a whip on our back so no pride is intact. The wounds have healed But the scars are forever true. How can you be complete without all of YOU. No one knows our pain or our blues. The only time they see us literally is when we are on the five o'clock news. All this screaming but nothing is being done. While I guess even justice takes Time-Off from a long run. But what is a break, when we never received justice in the first place. Our Life being watered dow...
As always I write about things that I think need to be addressed. Anyway, as I was surfing the internet; more importantly gofundme.com I found out about a Young Brother that life has been turned up-side-down. Through I whole-heartedly believe that we serve an all-powerful GOD that would not let just anything happen to us (without reason). I however, also feel it is our duty as Brothers to help each other when ever we can. Now, here is the story of Steffon L. Josey-Davis as told by himself (source: gofundme.com profile page). Hello, My name is Steffon Josey-Davis I'm a 24 year old from New Jersey who became a convicted felon for a legally owned firearm. As an armored Guard for Loomis, As a Armed service company who transported U.S & foreign currency to banks and service ATM's. I was also on the road to a successful career with my township police department.  One Morning on September 20th 2013. I was preparing myself for work, grabbing my firearm out of my safe, bulletpro...
Yo, I know I'm late, please don't judge your Brother. But anyway, here is this month's book selection and since I have not done this in awhile; lets also do the word of the week. First, this month book of the month is " Letters To Young Black Men" By: Mr. Daniel Whyte III Also, for those who have already read this book; I will start adding a alternative to the Brown Brother's B.O.T.M The Alternative is: Playbook for Christian Manhood: 12 Key Plays for Black Teen Boys by: Mr. James C. Perkins Last, here is the Brown Brother's Word of the week: Eminent Domain The power to take private property for public use by a state, municipality, or private person or corporation authorized to exercise functions of public character, following the payment of just compensation to the owner of that property. In other words, someone can take your Grandma House for (at times) Pennies-on the dollar, because they feel they need her house ...
In 2015, is Chivalry (the acts as well as actions of a gentleman) dead? I hope not, as a Young Brother that proudly considers himself a gentleman, I like to think that the act of being a man of character is not dead in a society that preaches disrespect to Women and Young Ladies. I like to think that the very simple but manly gestures of opening doors for women and calling women ma'am (no matter her age or perceive "social" or "society" value) are still alive. Maybe not as popular, well-perceived, or well-appreciated as it was back-in-the-day. However, being a gentleman still exists and being a man of character actually carries its own reward. Anyway, I think gentlemanhood and manhood is extremely important in 2015. Particularally, in Our Communities; we as Young Brothers need to step up to the plate and treat Our Women and Young Ladies with the respect, bro/sis hood-ship, and gender awareness that society has label as obsolete. Society (more specifically: m...
