Upon hearing about the WWE Legend Hulk Hogan; I was surprised, startled, and slightly taken-back. Being that I was a WWE Fan since I can remember, I was like every kid free and innocent. I paid no attention to the degrading and disrespected of minority bodies by this wrestling company as well as many others like it. As a kid, you pay no attention to the "problems of the world" unless they are brought to your mind by Adults or this cruel world. Anyway, as stated above I paid no attention to the stereotypes, objectification, and hate brought forth by those meant to "entertain" families all over the world. Surely, I thought as a kid that life was fair. However, as I got older and more wiser I began to see the "wrong" of stereotypes of Black Bodies and/or objectification of women, etc. I saw African-American Wrestlers winning less and less of the matches, Female Wrestlers Wearing Less and Less Clothing, as well as the direct connection between my bl...
"Why I do what I do?" I was asked this question a minute ago. At that time I probably gave a straight answer and one that was most heart-felt. However, as I sit in my bed like many nights I think to myself about a lot of things. And, one that keeps crawling in my head over & over again is why I do this? And how this movement become a part of me? I thought about this question and I have came to a ultimate conclusion about why. Now part is this equation is partly what I told the lady at that Mike Brown Rally. However, to understand a human being's passion and/or purpose in life I had to look deep into myself to understand. I gues...
" THE TRAP: The Music and its REAL Meaning " A song called "Trap Queen" shut-down the internet faster than Kanye's Wife. The song "Trap Queen" spread throughout the radio, faster than a Outkast "Reunion" Single. The song "Trap Queen" was probably the biggest song in Hip-hop in the last two years. However, I'm not here to talk about the music or any other thing. I here to talk about the "trap." Let me tell y'all something, My Brothers. The "trap" is real. First, before I start off like this I would like to say; I am not dissing or putting down any of My Brothers who had to "Do, what they had to do." However, I am here to drop is knowledge and give y'all wisdom. While, here we go. It started off when I was young, m...
"What does it mean to be a Brother of Color " I have been thinking about this question for the last 48-hours non-stop. I guess to be honest with you even further, I have been thinking about this my entire life (or at least the part of my life in which I have became enlighten about the world). As I have thought about this question, I made the mistake of trying to answer it in one definition. Heck, even right now I am making the I won't say mistake but the miscalculation of trying to answer a life-long meaning in a essay. For life is much more than words on a paper. The meaning of life is especially more valued for "Us" knowing the statistics, traps, and obstacles set up for Us to fail. Therefore, although I can not answer wha...
" What it means to be a Brother of Color " I think about this question everyday. I mean I think about this day and night. What does it me to be me? What does it means to be a stereotype, a label, a statistic, a example, but mostly importantly a Brother? Article Coming SOON!

Haven't done this in a while, so today in African-American History; July 8th 1805 - Bill Richmond, son of a slave, became the first African American to distinguish himself as a prizefighter. On this date, Richmond knocked out Jack Holmes in England. 1965 - N AACP elects Roy Wilkins as there new executive director. Source: http://www.blackfacts.com/
" Colorism: Division Among Us" This kills me to write it, but it has to be said. As y'all know, I call out any and everyone who is oppressing the success of Us. When I mean this I don't care who it is even if it's One of Us. Heck, I have called-out myself on this blog (several times). Today instead of talking about Racism, I want to talk about something called Colorism. Definition: Colorism is a practice of discrimination by which those with lighter skin are treated more favorably than those with darker skin. In the African-American community, this traditionally played out via the paper bag test. Those lighter than the standard paper lunch bag were allowed entry into fraternities, sororities and other realms of b...
If you have not seen it, there is a idiotic and awful video traveling around the internet. It shows a Brother, hoping in a Sister's car. She had her doors unlocked. Because of this this, the  disrespectful, unenlightened, and clearly "uneducated" (mindset, not school-type educated) Brother decided to get in her car. I guess this dude gets some kind of enjoyment or "pleasure" from scaring our Queens and making them fearful or at the very least lose respect for Brown Men.  I personally assure you that those who identify themselves as Real Black Males or my YB's over here at the Brown Brother are not like this idiot. However, I have seen to many cases of My Brothers disrespecting or mistreating our fellow Sisters. I find this video traumatic and saddening, further I am never calling for the "new-age enslavement" of one of my Brothers. However, right is right; and this fool needs to be charged with harassment and breaking/entering. At the very least,...
With a sad and troubled heart, I am sorry to report that Our Brother Monroe Bird has passed. As you probably remember, earlier this year I told you the story of Young Brother Bird. He was a star basketball player and Son of two local pastors. Like Trayvon Martin, Monroe was minding his own business and living his life, when a over overzealous and violent "wannabe enforcer" took unnecessary actions. These actions led to Our Brother being shot for just living life and being Brown. However, because the officials handling the case for some reason didn't want to charge the security guard (who was under the influence at the time); maybe because of Stand Your Ground Law (if your thinking George Zimmerman your right). However, all I do know is Brother Bird and His Family did not get the justice they deserve. Maybe even great than this fact, as a result of the non-action taken by those handling the case; Monroe was denied his health insurance which would have provided him proper...
