"Dear Mama"
Tomorrow is Mother's Day, therefore I thought it would only be proper to write a piece about our Moms. To me, Moms are a lot more than the person that gave birth to us. A Mom is so special to me that it seems almost disrespectful to only dedicate a single day out of the year for them. A Mom is more then just a Day of appreciation. Therefore, one of the things that I want to make clear is that we as Young Brothers must appreciate and show love to our mothers on a daily basis.
Furthermore, I can't explain or describe how much Moms really mean to us. Since birth, they have been our earthly providers, role models, inspiration, and disciplinary figure. Without Moms, many of our lives would not even be close to the lives we have now.
To me, rather you believe it or not. We as African-American Males should appreciate our Mothers on a even higher level than any other. Because, many African-American Males come from single-mothers. The sacrifices, hearts, and love of a single-mother can't be measured or valued. I can't tell y'all how special we should feel to have Moms who loves and cares for us No Matter What.
In addition, being a Mother to me is one of the few true examples of Unconditional Love.
I love my Mother and I don't have any shame in saying it LOUD. Further, I love all the Moms
out there who have done like my Mom and shown love, support, and guidance to us. I can say with undeniable fact that I myself would not be who I am without my Mom, Grandmas, Aunts, and many other motherly figures. Heck, the Brown Brother (Human Beings or Blog) would not be in existence with Moms. In closing, I from the bottom of my heart say Thank You to all the Moms out there. You all deserve much more than just a holiday.
PS: Thanks to all my Mothers for loving us and to my Mom thank you for help making me the Young Men I am Today.
