As you can tell in the majority of my latest postings; I have been trying to drop knowledge, bring awareness to African-American excellence, and just being all-around useful in my articles. Anyway, as I was on Twitter; one of the groups I follow (Revolution of Hope) referred me to a Young Brother that is without a doubt doing HIS THING. The Young Brother is a promising and outstanding Young Entrepreneur. Brother Toni Oloko has started a Tech Company at the age of 18. So far, Mr. Oloko has been featured in numerous Tech and Media Outlets. His company is now in the Mass Challenge, which is the largest-ever startup accelerator and competition that support early staged entrepreneurs. Now as Mr. Oloko continues to succeed to the tech world, he has launched a company that gives the word Practice (did you say PRACTICE- Allen Iverson voice). This is a new and 21st Century practice approach. The app is called PracticeGigs. A startup based out of Massachusetts, the app hel...
It is sad in today's society that there are still very few mainstream images of Black Excellence; specifically from that of the Afro-American Male. Therefore, we ourselves have to show HOW GREAT WE ACTUALL ARE. Anyway, we the Brown Brother love to celebrate and share Afro-American Excellence. Therefore, if you follow the blog you know we like to highlight the amazing work and accomplishments "WE" as a people make. Today, I want to highlight a excellent school that his transformed the lives of countless Young Brown Brothers. This school is producing the next generation of African-American Excellence and Leadership. Established in 2002, Urban Prep Academies is a non-profit organization that runs a free open-enrollment all-male "college-preparatory" High-School in Chicago for Young Brothers of Color.  Urban Prep was the first ever to operate to all-male public charter high school in the United States. The network opened a second campus in 2009 and a third in Augu...
" Greenwood, Oklahoma : Black Wall Street " Today, I thought I would drop some knowledge on you guys. I don' know if you ever heard about this disgusting and tragic historical event. But this is the story of Greenwood, Oklahoma aka "Black Wall Street." The Tulsa race riot was a large-scale, racially motivated conflict on May 31 and June 1, 1921, in which a group of white people attacked the black community of Tulsa, Oklahoma . It resulted in the Greenwood District , also known as ' the Black Wall Street ' [ 1 ] and the wealthiest black community in the United States, being burned to the ground. During the 16 hours of the assault, more than 800 people were admitted to local white hospitals with injuries (the two black ...

Today, May 21st 2015 As always y'all I post about news and articles that affect US as a people, but especially US as Young Brothers. However, today I want to talk solely about our Sisters; Our African Queens are being killed and violated at the same rates as US. Therefore, today is officially #SayHerName Day; which is basically re-affirming the value of the African-American Queens and highlighting the Lives of African-American Women who have been unjustly killed. Basically, letting everyone around the world know that Black Women's Lives Matter.  I thought that this is a incredible and amazing way to highlight the Lives of Our Sisters. Also, show the numerous and countless Women that have died unjustly. We know about #Eric Harris and #TonyRobison; however, we at times forget about the Lives of Our Incredible Sisters. And for that I am sorry (for I am honestly probably guilty of this myself: Real-Talk). We as Brothers sometimes disrespect our Sisters and this ...
"Suicide" Wasn't going to post anything else tonight, however I heard about the story of our now decreased Brother Adrian Robison and I had to run over here & speak my peace. At the vibrant and young age of 25, our departed Brother Adrian Robison committed suicide. Former football star and larger than life Mr. Robison will be missed. My Prayers, deep-felt sympathy, and heart go out to the Robison Family (especially his young child). RIP our Brother Adrian Robison. Also, while I'm here I want to discuss a very hard and at-times unexplainable topic: Suicide. As Young Brothers we are all right now going...
Hi, my Brothers how are you guys doing? While, I hope everyone is having a great week. Today, is May, 18th. It is a very special Day for US as Young Brothers and it is a Great Day in the World. Today is Malcolm X DAY. On today one of the greatest Leaders of MEN period was born. With intelligence, excellence, bravery, grace, sound mind, strength, class, and power; Mr. Malcolm X lead us as a people. If he had lived today, Mr. X would be celebrating his 90th Birthday. I can not explain to you how much respect, admiration, and love I have for our Timeless Leader. To this very day, his lessons are still a major part of my Personal Life as well as the Lives numerous other people. His Legacy, Courage, Mission, and Determination will never be forgotten. He is my Hero, Mentor, Example, and Father Figure. I can't explain just exactly what all Mr. Malcolm X means to me. How, he is greatest at its best.
My Brothers, I sorry that I have been gone. Been trying to promote the book and do some final updates. However, when I heard about this story from Shaun King on Twitter. I had to run straight over here. I am angry and outraged, so excuse me if this posting is not my usual "Cool-Calm-and Collective self." I just read this report on dailykos.com (you can go there for the original article). Its entitled "If Trayvon Martin Had Lived: Meet Monroe Bird. I so sick of this crap that I don't know what to do. How many of my Brothers will have to be hashtags before, some change really happens. Not even the fear of GOD is stopping these ugly-hateful-evil-and insane killers from harming our Brothers. Anyway, This is the story of my Brother Monroe Bird. On February 4th (I just now hearing about it, they are trying to sweep it under the rug). On February 4th, While chilling in his own car; in his own neighborhood. My Brother Monroe Bird was shoot-down by a trigger-ha...
Thank Y'all for all of your patience regarding the much awaited release of the book. The book will be entitled 40 Tips for Young African-American Males. I pray and have faith that this book will help ease and help Young Brothers as they go through the all important journey of Manhood. I can confidentially say that this book is almost complete, with just a little editing that this to be done. I hope and pray that will have no delays, and it will be release and ready for my Brothers by Mid-July 2015.
"Dear Mama" Tomorrow is Mother's Day, therefore I thought it would only be proper to write a piece about our Moms. To me, Moms are a lot more than the person that gave birth to us. A Mom is so special to me that it seems almost disrespectful to only dedicate a single day out of the year for them. A Mom is more then just a Day of appreciation. Therefore, one of the things that I want to make clear is that we as Young Brothers must appreciate and show love to our mothers on a daily basis. Furthermore, I can't explain or describe how much Moms really mean to us. Since birth, they have bee...
Hey Guys, I found out about this group/community grass-roots programs on twitter yesterday. This s an incredible mission being done by some good people. This program is for Young People and it is called Youth Empowerment. Youth Empowerment is basically a program started by Arturo Soriano and his wife aimed at empowering at-risk Youth (through mentorship) as well as partnering with Young People to change our communities (including community clean-ups and other restoration projects). Also, they have many positive and diverse activities like: paintball, football, and protest of injustices. The program is based out of Teralta Park in the City Heights Community (San Diego, CA). What started out as a simple pickup basketball game, has turned into a community out-reached program that has reach-out and impacted many. I believe that this is a great program and the prospect of changing life is always outstanding. For more information abo...

" Threat to Society?" Since  the beginning of slavery, the oppressor has been trying to make "US' a treat to society. Although, statistics (yes I said Statistics) show that African-Americans (specifically: African-American Males) are not any more violent than non-Afro Americans males. Some statistics actually show that African-American Males are less violent than any other race. The past power that be are still trying to push the label or stereo-type upon People of Color. Further, when it comes to a threat to public safety; Black Males are legitimately the least violent. Studies show that most mass-shooting and mass-killing are done by non-Black Male...
